Vivek Dhage’s thirst to freeze memories is more than just a craving to get out and shoot. He hungers to bring out the essence of beauty, of timelessness, in everything he sees, be it an aged, tribal chieftain deep within the heart of India’s remotest forest, exotic birds crossing the subcontinent’s seemingly endless skies, or an inanimate object captured perfectly in a conceptual moment.
A photographer and visual artist, Vivek resides in Bangalore, India. His photographs cover places such as China, England, Singapore, and his homeland, India. Vivek believes that every picture should be conceptually strong and speak for itself.
I believe there’s a huge difference between a good-looking image and a good image. Every object and subject in this world has its own unique soul. It’s this soul and its essence that triggers mine. I feel a passion to capture their images and the substance of their beauty. This is the concept of making a good picture – one that stays in the mind and soul long after you’ve seen the image.
